How did the old rhyme go? "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep." Few seem to mention the soul anymore. Yet, in early Methodist small groups, called class meetings, they would ask each other, "How is it with your soul?" But we Moderns are not quite sure what the soul is. We are certainly not sure how to identify the health of our souls. And caring for our souls? "Can I get back to you on that?" By caring for our souls our faith deepens and our faith stride lengthens. On Sunday, Oct. 23, at 9 AM in the Rand Room, Quincy Collins, a retired pastor, will lead John Ortberg’s video study for an hour. And, we rather hope to have coffee so our bodies can catch up with our souls. |
